Real Estate is a challenging and exciting career for any year 10 or 12 student who may be a little indecisive about their future, yet ambitious and ready to take on an exciting pathway in terms of a career. “Everyone needs a roof over their head”, unless you are one of the 100,000 out of the 5.5 million people in the city who are homeless. That is the reason the Federal Government listed Real Estate as an essential service during COVID-19.
In terms of a career path the great Australian dream is to buy your own home, so you are really selling the great Australian dream, which can be rewarding in many, many ways.
In Real Estate the people who started from the bottom typically started in administration, reception, and leasing roles. These roles provide you with an indication of what the fundamentals of Real Estate are – putting people first. Real Estate is based around people, the law, customer service and product knowledge - these are just a few characteristics you will need to be successful in this industry.
There are many different facets of Real Estate. There is residential leasing, commercial leasing, residential sales, project marketing, commercial sales, just to name a few of the areas that you can specialise in. At NGFarah we specialise in all the above.
If you are interested in a sales career, starting at entry level is essential but you can quickly work your way up to becoming a Licenced Real Estate Agent or Sales Associate, in which you will have the opportunity to be remunerated for your work ethic and your ability to connect with people.
Ultimately, Real Estate is about building trust and developing long term relationships and enlightening people. You need to be extremely focused, ambitious, community minded and passionate to be successful in the industry.
Education is also a critical part of obtaining a Real Estate Licence, which incorporates Real Estate law and many of our legislation and work practises we need to abide by and also maintain. Continuous education is also a requirement and of course a major benefit to being a compliant, knowledgeable, and successful Real Estate Agent.
We at NGFarah encourage ongoing learning and hold regular group training sessions both compulsory and non-compulsory.
